Rod Martin: Miers Deserves Praise

Filed under: Uncategorized — Nicholas Stehle @ 9:08 pm

Conservative activist and Vanguard PAC founder and Chairman Rod D. Martin (link) writes that Harriet Miers deserves our praise for her handling of the nomination debacle. The President probably owes her a nice steak dinner and a sizeable raise for not having the compassion to avoid putting her through this mess.

As usual, Rod is right; The President made a horrible error in judgment. He needs to bury this and take good care of Ms. Miers for the remainder of her stay at the Whitehouse.

Islamo-fascists: ‘destroy Israel’

Filed under: Uncategorized — Nicholas Stehle @ 9:45 am

Iran’s president has called for Israel to be “wiped off the map.”

Gee - fascists involved in genocide, murder and racism? Surely not!

I’m certainly glad that our European allies want to work closely with these peace-loving folks to ensure a fair and equitable resolution to the unfolding nuclear crisis with our arch-enemy. Thanks a bundle, Germany. We appreciate it, France. We’ll do as the Europeans ask us only to watch the Iranians nuke Israel and Americans in Iraq. But then again, that might be just what the anti-Semitic, anti-American crowd in Europe want.

Miers Withdraws

In a not-so-surprising move, President Bush’s Supreme Court Nominee, White House Counsel Harriet Miers, has withdrawn.

No surprise there. Maybe now we can get a nominee that isn’t offensive to every conservative in America. Too much groupthink is going on in the Whitehouse. If the President allows that to happen once again by nominating Alberto Gonzales, it’ll be the President resigning next time. President Bush needs to pay attention to the hard-working intellectual conservatives who are the base of the Republican Party unless he wants a congressional election disaster in 2006 and President Hillary Clinton in 2008.

Vanguard PAC’s press release on Miers sums up the reasons a lot of conservatives just could not (and probably should not) support Miers’ nomination.

After this one, the President owes Harriet Miers a nice pay raise and a massive apology.

Dovrak: Mac users are stupid

Filed under: Uncategorized — Nicholas Stehle @ 3:50 pm

PC Magazine isn’t exactly a bastion of intellectualism, so I should probably reserve my harshest (and truest) comments about its content. Calling them what they are lends entirely too much credibility. These folks are typical geeks - not businessmen - and have no idea how computer and technology are used in big-boy business.

In one of his most disturbing and mentally-incompetent rantings yet, columnist John Dvorak refers to the iPod as “late-to-market.” Sorry, John, but the iPod beat the pathetic offerings of Dell and most other manufacturers to the board by years, not just by months. Additionally, the iPod was innovative, unlike Dell’s ugly response, which pales in comparison (especially on features and disk space) and is really embarassing for a company like Dell. Dvorak claims that 90% of people in the media are Mac users and thus slant news in Apple’s favor. I’d shove a pencil in my eye after reading this unsupported lie, but I think I’ve suffered enough. I lost 5 minutes reading this pathetic editorial.

Dvorak goes further: the Xbox 360, he says, is the solution to Microsoft’s continuing losses of digital lifestyle equipment to Apple. Pulease. Fire all of the people at Microsoft who refuse to innovate, tell them to quit copying the competition’s interface (as Dvorak admits Microsoft did) and build something new and exciting. That would be good for smart consumers who currently buy Apple products–we’d finally have another choice when it comes to smart, life-altering and imaginative products.

Hurricane Season Likely Over for U.S.

Finally!

World-renowned Meteorologist Dr. Jeff Masters posts in his blog that the record-breaking 2005 hurricane season is likely over for the United States. A westerly flow and colder water temperatures in the Gulf and in the Atlantic appear to lead him to believe that the United States can breathe easy in just a few short days.

Now only the winter weather and cooler temperatures will give the speculators a reason to make us pay $3.00/gallon for gasoline.

This article details some of the press corp attempts to digitally edit photgraphs to make conservative politicos look like demons or the like.

The culture war demands we take the press back. This sort of thing could prove to be very damaging if we ignore it. The Democrats are behaving like children. Where is the outrage over this? Why aren’t the so-called “conservative” media sources such as Fox going nuts over this? The entire mainstream media is covering up this scandal for the leftist-extremists just like they’ve covered up virtually every other unethical/illegal action in the news media for the past few decades.
